Dr. Tian Xia - Biography

Dr. Xia had been living in a medical environment for his entire youth; literally. As the child of a doctor in China, where hospitals provide housing for their doctors, Tian grew up on what amounts to a hospital complex. Immersed in such an environment, Tian learned a great deal as he grew and decided to continue down that familiar path and pursue an expertise in medicine.
After completing one year of medical school in China, Dr. Xia came to the United States in 1991. With a keen insight into the benefits of treating the whole person rather than just isolated symptoms and areas, Dr. Xia decided to pursue osteopathic medicine and pain management.
Dr. Xia sees this path as a way to have a positive impact on many lives. The field is exciting and interesting to him, because it is ever growing with new technologies and new treatments, and because it is truly helpful to the quality of life for suffering individuals.
When Tian Xia first came to the United States, he came to Chicago. This is where he studied and where he has chosen to live, practice and teach medicine. For nearly 20 years Dr. Xia has enjoyed the diversity in and the hard working nature of the people of Chicago.
